UK-Iranian dual national arrested over RAF Fairford released on bail
A UK‑Iranian dual national arrested on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts in connection with events at RAF Fairford has been released on bail.
The 25‑year‑old was taken into custody in the Westminster area of London on Thursday, and searches of two nearby properties have finished.
Police had earlier warned of three "suspicious vehicles" near the Gloucestershire airbase last weekend; a major incident was declared and dozens of homes were evacuated.
Five other men in their twenties, all UK nationals from London, were also arrested and subsequently released on police bail.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the events is ongoing, police said.
