Students across France have taken to the streets in a wave of protests that began in Paris and is now sweeping the country, demanding urgent reform of the education system.
Since the demonstrations started nearly two weeks ago, more than 500 schools have been disrupted, and clashes with police have turned violent.
The French education ministry says at least 65 staff members have sustained injuries during the unrest.
BBC journalist James Waterhouse, in Paris, reported seeing students hurling projectiles while police deployed tear gas to break up the crowds.
The protests have now spread to other cities, with school disruptions reported across the country.
