In their photographs, students like Rashmitha T captured moments revealing the harsh realities of their neighbors. One poignant image features an elderly woman in her home surrounded by the cigarettes she painstakingly rolls for a meager income. "No one knows about their work, their untold stories need to be told," Rashmitha emphasized, adding that many of these workers face severe health risks.

Jayaraj S documented his mother making bricks at night to escape the suffocating heat of the day, while Gopika Lakshmi M highlighted her father continuing to sell groceries despite enduring dialysis treatments. Students also expressed pride and determination, with Keerthi showcasing her mother juggling responsibilities as the family’s primary breadwinner.

Mukesh K spent days documenting his father’s quarry work, revealing the difficult living conditions and financial struggles faced by laborers. Muthamizh Kalaivizhi, head of the project, aims to develop social responsibility among students through art, encouraging them to understand and advocate for the workers around them. By capturing these stories, the students hope to inspire social change and raise awareness of the often-overlooked contributions of laborers in society.

As these young photographers shine a light on the struggles and resilience of their communities, their project stands as a call to action to recognize and uplift the voices of India's laborers.
