At least three Palestinian women have died and eight others sustained injuries after missile debris struck a beauty salon in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, as reported by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The PRCS confirmed that the shrapnel impacted the salon located in Beit Awwa, near Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank. The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that fragments also landed on a metal caravan used as a salon and other locations across the region.

This incident occurred shortly after the Israeli military announced that missiles had been fired from Iran towards Israel, and they were taking measures to intercept them.

The women who lost their lives were identified as Mais Ghazi Masalmeh, 17; Sahira Rizq Masalmeh, 50; and Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa' Masalmeh, 36. Response teams, including at least five ambulances, rushed to the site where they found multiple casualties and injuries. The bodies of the deceased were transported to a nearby hospital along with other victims suffering from critical and moderate injuries.

Initially, the PRCS reported four women had died but later revised the death toll down to three. The organization highlighted that their rescue efforts were significantly hindered by iron gates that obstructed access to the area, directly impacting the response time for treating the injured.

The BBC has reached out to the Israeli military for further comments regarding this incident.
