A tourist train overturned on Santo Cristo road in the Spanish town of Cártama during the free ride segment of the annual Ruta de la Tapa y el Cóctel. Seventeen people were injured, including three children, but authorities report no serious injuries.



The incident occurred shortly after 21:30 local time (20:30 UTC) Saturday evening. Emergency services responded quickly; four passengers were later taken to a nearby hospital.

The train was part of a free tour that encourages visitors to explore local restaurants and bars along the route. It carried about 30 passengers at the time of the crash.

The excursion ran from 10 to 14 June, mapping several eateries across the city. Stamps collected at each stop entered participants into a raffle for prizes.



The Cártama train service has been suspended for the weekend as investigators look into the cause of the overturn. The town, located 17 km from Málaga and 44 minutes from Marbella, is a popular spot for tourists.
