A collision between a freight train and a public bus has killed at least eight people and injured 25 others in Bangkok, emergency services reported.
Police and rescue officials indicated that the collision triggered a fire that engulfed the public bus on Saturday.
Flames spread to nearby vehicles, leading firefighters and rescue crews to be dispatched to the scene. Teams worked diligently to pull injured victims from the wreckage while fire crews contained the blaze.
The fire has since been brought under control, with crews now working to cool the area, vent gas, and continue searching for victims. Meanwhile, the cause of the accident is under investigation.
