Three Israeli civilians lost their lives, and eight others were injured in a Palestinian shooting attack targeting a bus and vehicles in the northern West Bank. According to paramedics from the Magen David Adom ambulance service, the deceased included two women in their 60s and a man in his 40s. The bus driver is among the seriously wounded.

The Israeli military reported that "terrorists" opened fire on vehicles near the village of al-Funduq, located along Highway 55, before fleeing the scene. Israeli media noted that security forces were in pursuit of two Palestinian attackers, establishing roadblocks, and encircling nearby towns to locate them.

Paramedic Avichai Ben Tzurya, who arrived at the scene, described the attack as serious, revealing that they discovered two women and a man in cars without any signs of life, each suffering from critical gunshot wounds. Inside the bus, multiple passengers were treated for gunshot wounds and injuries from shattered glass. The bus driver was conscious, though injured.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to hold the "abhorrent murderers" accountable, stating on social media that they would not escape justice. While no Palestinian armed group promptly claimed responsibility, Hamas characterized the attack as a "heroic response," responding to ongoing Israeli actions, including recent military actions in Gaza.

The West Bank has seen increasing violence since the outbreak of hostilities following Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. The Palestinian health ministry reported that Israeli forces killed two Palestinians, a 17-year-old boy and a 40-year-old man, in separate incidents over the weekend, contributing to the rising death toll amid this ongoing conflict.
