The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development (NCVC), through its Aseer Region branch, announced on November 4, 2026 that it has begun its seed‑dispersal initiative in Bisha Governorate, targeting 60,000 hectares of natural rangeland for rehabilitation.

The field operation, part of this year’s National Afforestation Season under the theme “A Generation That Plants for a Thriving Nation,” will disperse native forage plant seeds—particularly ramth and arfaj—while simultaneously harvesting rainwater to support germination and growth.

NCVC stated that the initiative seeks to increase vegetation cover density, preserve biodiversity, and reduce land degradation, thereby contributing to the broader goals of the Saudi Green Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030.

The project involves cooperation among several government agencies, educational institutions, and volunteer groups, all working to strengthen community participation in environmental protection and the conservation of natural resources.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the program builds on ongoing NCVC efforts to rehabilitate degraded areas, develop natural rangelands, expand green spaces, and reinforce local stewardship of environmental resources.
