Wasp 'Riding a Broomstick' Stuns Photography Judges
A remarkable photograph of a potter wasp, seemingly captured mid-flight with a caterpillar in tow, has garnered accolades in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. This fascinating image titled 'Special Delivery' was taken by macro wildlife photographer Bidyut Kalita.
At first glance, the potter wasp appears to be riding a broomstick. However, the industrious insect is actually carrying a caterpillar – its prey for feeding its young. The image has stirred excitement and delight among judges and photography enthusiasts.
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition will announce its winners on October 14. This year’s exhibition at the Natural History Museum will showcase 100 outstanding photographs from around the world.
