Hebron Governor Khaled Dudin confirmed on Monday that Israeli troops have withdrawn from the entire city of Hebron, allowing Palestinian security forces to assume full control and families who were forced to leave homes to return.

The announcement comes after a 10‑day military operation that began on Oct. 23 following a shooting attack by two Palestinians that killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded three. Israeli forces imposed city closures, seized homes in the Al‑Jalda and Ein Deir Baha areas, and converted them into military posts, while also conducting raids, arrests and forced displacement of residents.

The governor noted that more than 3,300 Palestinians were displaced or otherwise affected, and that 15 homes and other structures were demolished during the operation, inflicting damage on the local economy and infrastructure.

The Israeli army had later reported the two attackers had been killed. Palestinian security forces are now monitoring developments on the ground and working to provide the necessary conditions for residents to return safely.

Khaled Dudin said the withdrawal "has allowed families who were forced to leave their homes to come back, and Palestinian security forces now have full control of the area."

“Relevant authorities and Palestinian security forces are monitoring developments on the ground and working to provide the necessary conditions for residents to return safely,” Dudin said.
