Wale's Lamborghini is reportedly connected to Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving a seven-year sentence in the US for his involvement in fraud. Interestingly, Wale's management did not comment on the US allegations but instead stated that the musician was apprehended due to his “tax obligations.” On Wednesday, the artist, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah, voluntarily presented himself to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (Eoco) in Ghana. The Eoco has yet to provide any comments regarding the unfolding situation.

Having carved a prominent niche in the music industry, Shatta Wale has boosted his international presence through collaborations, including a notable project with Beyoncé on the 2019 track “Already.” Following the seizure of his Lamborghini, which is valued at around $150,000 (£110,000), Wale expressed confusion about its origins and maintained that he is a "third-party owner" of the vehicle. The car is expected to be returned to the US as part of restitution efforts for Amuah's victims.

Amuah, along with his accomplices, duped nearly 70 public and private institutions in the US, according to court documentation. In light of the ongoing investigation, Wale's team has encouraged fans to remain calm and avoid speculation while his legal representatives work with the authorities. A broader crackdown on international fraud networks connected to Ghana has recently been initiated, with the FBI and US Justice Department arresting three Ghanaian nationals believed to be leaders of a fraudulent scheme estimated to have affected $100 million, involving romance scams and phishing tactics.
