Yung Filly to face retrial on rape charges – After a Perth jury acquitted him of three rape allegations, the court will now retry two assault charges and a pending rape claim.
The YouTuber, known on the platform as Yung Filly, denied ten charges against him. In the last session, he was found not guilty on three rape counts, missing, however, a different set of accusations that remained undecided.
The court heard that the 31‑year‑old veteran of the Beta Squad YouTube group met a 20‑year‑old fan at a Perth nightclub. The encounter reportedly began consensually, but the woman later alleged forced, violent sex in a hotel room, leading to multiple assault claims.
Yung Filly will speak at the court on 27 August, requesting a change to his bail conditions. The retrial date is still to be set, and the prosecution will press for another set of testimony from the accused victim.
The high‑profile case remains under active scrutiny, with crowdsourced fact‑checks and real‑time discussion feeds engaging Australian and global audiences.
