In the early hours of Friday, two people were injured when a stabbing occurred inside Edmonton's Nanaksar Gurdwara. Police said the attack took place around 5:00 a.m. and a suspect has since been arrested.
Authorities have not released the suspect's identity or explained why the incident took place. The Gurdwara staff reported that an intruder entered the temple and stabbed worshippers, and a copy of the Sikh scripture was reportedly desecrated.

Police have closed the Nanaksar Gurdwara to the public while the investigation continues, and the mayor of Calgary, Jeromy Farkas, described the threats to the city's gurdwaras as "utterly disgusting" in a recent social‑media post.
