Mel Schilling, a dating coach from the reality show Married at First Sight, has passed away at the age of 54, according to a heartfelt message from her husband on Instagram. This news comes just two weeks after Schilling revealed that her cancer had spread to her brain.
Since joining the cast of Married at First Sight in 2016, Schilling has endeared herself to audiences both in Australia and the UK. She was diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2023, a condition that marked the beginning of a courageous but challenging journey.
In his emotional post, her husband, Gareth, noted that Schilling passed away peacefully today, surrounded by love. He expressed how she was not just a TV star but also a cherished mother and partner, calling her our wee Melsie and sharing that she used her final moments to convey a loving message to their daughter, Maddie.
