Although Abrego Garcia is not an activist, his wrongful deportation to El Salvador has become a symbol of the gale-force immigration policies that have created immense public scrutiny. After being erroneously imprisoned in a notorious facility since March, his lawyer says he is clinging to hope for a fair resolution.

His attorney, Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, described the hardships Abrego Garcia faced, asserting that he is still fighting despite the overwhelming power of the U.S. government.
