ICE Agent Shoots Man in Bronx During Targeted Enforcement Operation
An ICE officer opened fire on a man in the Bronx, New York, on Thursday night. The shootout was part of a targeted operation to arrest an alleged criminal immigrant.

Department of Homeland Security said the agent discharged his weapon during the encounter. The victim, a Dominican national with a history of violent crime, was transported to a hospital where he was declared deceased.
A five‑year‑old child in the defendant’s car was reportedly unharmed, authorities said. Mayor Zohran Mamdani called the incident ’unconscionable and seriously dangerous.’
Governor Kathy Hochul informed President Donald Trump of the shooting and demanded the release of body‑camera footage to establish facts.
ICE has faced criticism after a series of fatal confrontations this year, including the January death of Renee Good in Minneapolis.
National crowds gaped at the scene, chanting ‘ICE off our streets.’ Protesters gathered around the vehicle and municipal police remained on standby.
Officials have pledged a full investigation and urged transparency, saying ‘no one is above the law.’
