The 46-year-old writer, known for her popular novels like 'It Ends With Us' and 'Reminders of Him', stated that her surgery was a success and she is nearing completion of her radiation therapy.

Hoover shared the news in a heartfelt Instagram post, including a selfie in a hospital gown, stating, I'm doing much better. My cancer diagnosis was a while ago, but I chose to keep it private until after finding out my surgery was successful and what my other treatments would be. She initially disclosed her condition to fans in a private conversation about a month ago.

'Huge and Scary'

In her updates, Hoover explained she had been dealing with health issues throughout 2025, but postponed seeking medical advice until after the filming of the adaptation of her novel 'Reminders of Him' concluded. She received her cancer diagnosis upon returning home, describing it as huge and scary. The author chose to keep her diagnosis under wraps until she was certain of the surgery's success.

Despite her challenges, Hoover maintained a humorous tone, commenting on the environmental and lifestyle factors possibly linked to her cancer and stating, I'm happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables. She quipped about adhering to a healthier diet, remarking on her resistance to change.

'I'm a Badass'

In her recent updates, Hoover expressed her gratitude towards Texas Oncology, where she has been receiving treatment. She clarified that her announcements about her condition were not intended to garner sympathy sales for her latest novel release, 'Woman Down'. Hoover, a dedicated mother of three, continues to engage with her fanbase, recently surprising readers at a bookstore event in South Carolina shortly after radiation treatment.
