In Riyadh, the National Center for Falcons auction on its 14th night saw two juvenile peregrine falcons sold for a combined SAR182,000, the Saudi Press Agency reported on October 31 2026. The auction, which runs until November 30, 2026, only accepts juvenile migratory peregrines captured within Saudi Arabia, a rule designed to preserve adult populations.
The Saudi Press Agency noted that the auction nights are broadcast on television and social media, allowing falconers and enthusiasts nationwide to follow the proceedings in real time. While the event attracts large crowds of falconry enthusiasts each night, this particular night averaged an attendance of several hundred spectators, according to the agency’s coverage.
Experience reports from the auction indicate that the two young falcons drew intense bidding, with the highest single bid reaching SAR120,000 for one bird and SAR62,000 for the other, summing to the total of SAR182,000. The auction’s focus on locally captured juveniles aims to support sustainable falconry practices and reduce hunting pressure on adult breeding populations across Saudi Arabia.
With the auction’s two‑month run drawing widespread attention from both local and international falconry communities, the Saudi Press Agency continues to cover each night’s results, providing updates at the same pace as broadcasts reach audiences online and on television.
