New Zealand's search for fugitive Tom Phillips, who disappeared in December 2021 with his three children, has taken a poignant turn as his family issues a heartfelt plea for their safe return. Phillips took Ember, 9, Maverick, 10, and Jayda, 12, following a dispute with their mother, and has been on the run in the bush for almost four years.

For the first time, Phillips’ family spoke directly to him, voicing their love and need for him and the children to come home. In an exclusive interview with Stuff, his sister Rozzi expressed her longing to reconnect with them all, highlighting the family’s willingness to support them through this turmoil. "Every day I wake up and hope that today will be the day that you all come home," stated their mother, Julia, in a handwritten note shared with the media.

Recent sightings of Phillips and his children, notably during an encounter with teenagers in Marokopa, have raised hope. The children were spotted wearing camouflaged clothing and reported that only the group knew of their presence. Phillips, described as having a long beard and armed, has been actively evading authorities, who recently issued a warrant for his arrest linked to a bank robbery.

Authorities believe he is receiving assistance from outside parties and continue to urge the public to share any information. As the family awaits their return, a NZ$80,000 reward is in place for tips leading to their whereabouts, underscoring the urgency of their safe return home.
