Lil Nas X Pleads Not Guilty to Four Felony Charges After LA Arrest
The rapper Lil Nas X has pleaded not guilty to charges of injuring a police officer and resisting arrest following a dramatic incident on the streets of Los Angeles. The rapper, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, was arrested last week while naked and allegedly charged at officers responding to complaints from the public.
Now facing three felony counts of battery with injury to a police officer as well as a count of resisting arrest, Lil Nas X risks up to five years in prison if convicted. Details from the police report suggest that upon their arrival, he acted aggressively, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
He was taken to a hospital for evaluation after the police encountered him wandering along Ventura Boulevard. The 26-year-old artist appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom where his bail was set at $75,000.
Visuals circulating on social media, including unverified content on TMZ, illustrated the singer's behavior that night—showing him at times dancing provocatively in just white underwear and cowboy boots before being seen nude in the middle of the street.
During this ordeal, three police officers sustained injuries while attempting to take him into custody, highlighting the chaos of the situation. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman condemned the assault on officers, emphasizing that such actions are serious offenses regardless of a person's fame.
Currently, Lil Nas X is anticipated to release his second studio album, 'Dreamboy,' later this year and has teased new material on his social media.
