Australian actor Julian McMahon, renowned for his iconic roles in hit television shows like Nip/Tuck and Charmed, has sadly passed away at the age of 56. His wife, Kelly Paniagua, revealed that he succumbed to cancer in Clearwater, Florida, on Wednesday, expressing how he cherished life, family, friends, work, and fans. "His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible," Paniagua stated in a heartfelt message shared by Deadline.

McMahon's career skyrocketed with Charmed, where he played a charming character that captured the hearts of viewers. He later achieved greater fame with Nip/Tuck, portraying the complex plastic surgeon Dr. Christian Troy, a performance that garnered him a Golden Globe nomination across the show's six-season run from 2003 to 2010.

Following the news, co-star Dylan Walsh expressed his shock and sorrow, stating, "We rode this wave together and I loved him." He reminisced about their shared experiences, humor, and the deep bond they formed, saying, "My heart is with you. Rest in peace."

In addition to his acclaimed roles, McMahon famously took on the character of Doctor Doom in the Fantastic Four films released in 2005 and 2007, and he concluded his career with a prominent role in three seasons of the hit series FBI: Most Wanted. Producer Dick Wolf described the news of McMahon's passing as “shocking.”

Remarkably, McMahon was the son of a former Australian Prime Minister and portrayed a prime minister in his recent Netflix project, The Residence. His personal life included three marriages, the first to singer-actress Dannii Minogue, sister of renowned pop star Kylie Minogue.
