In a late‑summer launch, Trump Mobile promised to bring the first truly “Made in the USA” smartphone, the T1, to American consumers.
The company, founded by Donald Trump’s eldest sons, advertised the device as ready for production and delivery within months of its unveiling in 2025.
However, over the last year the phone’s key specifications and shipping timelines have shifted repeatedly. Some customers who placed pre‑orders are still waiting for their T1 units.
Thomas Copeland, an early backer of the venture, says the changes have eroded trust and that the “T1” remains largely a promise on paper.
Industry analysts warn that setting up a domestic assembly line for high‑tech components is a massive undertaking that often takes years of planning and capital investment, and they urge caution until independent auditors confirm production status.
For now, the T1’s future hinges on whether Trump Mobile can deliver on its marketing promises and whether the U.S. can support such a manufacturing venture.
