Tornado in southern France

A destructive tornado has torn through villages in southern France, injuring more than 40 people. An eyewitness from the village of Verzeille recorded the tornado forming beneath a thunderstorm, while winds exceeding 100 km/h ripped the roofs off homes in Pomas.

Local authorities say about 2,800 households are still without electricity on Monday evening, and several roads are blocked. Emergency teams are working around the clock to restore power and clear blockages.
