A charity co-founded by the Duke of Sussex, Sentebale, is suing him for defamation, according to court documents. The suit was officially recorded on March 24, and lists Prince Harry as a defendant alongside Mark Dyer, another former trustee.
Sentebale, which focuses on supporting young people in Africa, particularly those affected by HIV and AIDS, has not released specific details about the claims. This legal action follows Harry's departure from the charity last year amid contentious disputes regarding its management.
Representatives for both Prince Harry and Sentebale have thus far refrained from commenting further on the matter. The court filings confirm that the case concerns 'defamation - libel and slander'.
In March 2025, both Prince Harry and fellow founder Prince Seeiso left Sentebale alongside several trustees in a disagreement involving the charity's chair, Sophie Chandauka. Eventually, a Charity Commission investigation found fault on all fronts, criticizing how the conflict was publicly handled, which the investigation noted was detrimental to the charity's reputation.
The organization works in Botswana and Lesotho, aiming to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable youth in those regions.
