A powerful video from northern Nepal shows Nepalese soldiers bravely pulling victims from the marshy basin wreaked by yesterday’s flash floods. The footage captures men in camouflage rigs and tactical gear hauling neighbors out of encapsulating mud, operating under the looming threat of further landslides.
The floods have already claimed over 160 lives and left hundreds missing. Rescue teams—mainly army engineers and armed police—are pushing through treacherous terrain, trying to reach the border region on the Tibetan side, where their support infrastructure is severely limited.
Video highlights the chaos, with wounded bodies and floating debris dispersed through the mud. Workers use rakes and buckets, often trip over fallen trees, yet the determination remains high. On the ground, several civilians have been recovered alive, but many others still lie trapped under several metres of water‑laden earth.
