A Massachusetts judge declared a mistrial in the case of Lindsay Clancy, who was charged with killing her three children, after a week of deliberations concluded without a unanimous verdict.
Judge William Sullivan announced the mistrial Friday, citing a hung jury that could not reach a unanimous decision on her criminal liability.
Clancy’s attorneys said the trial was disrupted by a claim that one juror had not followed instructions on reasonable doubt, but the judge denied the motion and returned the jury to deliberations.
