Singer Marc Anthony has described the Beckham family rift as extremely unfortunate, but added that the way it has played out is hardly the truth.

The 57-year-old performed at Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham's wedding reception in 2022, and is a close friend of the wider family.

Brooklyn recently said the way the couple's first dance was handled at the wedding left him feeling uncomfortable and humiliated, after Anthony reportedly called for him to dance with his mother instead of his wife.

Beckham added that his mother then danced very inappropriately on him. Sir David and Lady Beckham have not commented since Brooklyn published his statement.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Anthony stated: I have nothing to say about what's happening with the family. They're a wonderful, wonderful family. I've known them since before the kids were born. I'm godfather to Cruz. I'm really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there.

He added: It's extremely unfortunate how it's playing out - but [how it's playing out] is hardly the truth.

Becuase this context follows Brooklyn Beckham's six-page Instagram statement on 19 January, where he confirmed a rift between himself and his wife with the wider Beckham family. He accused his parents of trying to ruin my relationship with Peltz, sharing how his mother's actions during the wedding created significant embarrassment for him.

Wedding DJ Fat Tony described the situation during the couple's first dance as awkward for everyone in the room, further adding that Marc Anthony had mistakenly introduced Lady Beckham instead of Nicola, leading to the bride leaving the venue in tears.

While Brooklyn's revelations contacted the public's imagination, Sir David Beckham's family has remained largely silent, only reflecting general views on social media use among youth.
