Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami Airport
A Boeing 767‑300 cargo aircraft operated by Amazon Air crashed into the tarmac of Miami International Airport on 7 September 2026, killing five crew members and seriously injuring five others.
The aircraft had departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was scheduled to land in Miami just before 14:00 local time (19:00 GMT). Video footage that has been released shows the jet overshooting the runway, clipping several vehicles parked on the apron before finally coming to rest in a shallow ditch.
Emergency crews responded to the scene in minutes, treating the injured and securing the crash site. The accident has prompted an investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Colombian Aviation Authority.
