According to Xinhua, an SUV plunged into a 300‑meter‑deep gorge in Uttarakhand early Thursday, killing four men, seriously injuring a woman, and leaving two women missing, a local police officer confirmed.
The vehicle, carrying six passengers alongside the driver, was on a Gujarati pilgrimage when it fell into the gorge and subsequently landed in a river.
All four people killed were men, including the driver. The injured person and the two missing passengers were women who hailed from the western state of Gujarat.
A search operation is still underway to find the two missing women, the officer said.
