The National Center for Meteorology released a forecast for Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, indicating thundershowers, hail, dust‑stirring winds and fog across the kingdom. Wind speeds from the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf were reported to reach 12–35 km/h, with waves up to two metres.
Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology announced today that thunderstorms with rain, cold gusts and fog will affect many regions across the kingdom.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the forecast lists Jazan, Asir, Al‑Baha, Mecca, Medina, Hail, the Northern Border and Eastern regions as likely to see hail‑laden thundershowers.
Surface wind speeds will emanate from the northwestern Red Sea, reaching 12–35 km/h in the northern sector, 12–32 km/h in the centre and 12–32 km/h in the southern part; the sea state will shift from calm to moderate, with waves half a metre to 1½ metres.
Across the Arabian Gulf, winds will blow easterly to southeasterly at 10–50 km/h in the north and northeasterly to northerly at 10–50 km/h in the south, while wave heights could reach up to two metres.
The forecast also warns that gusty, dust‑stirring winds will affect Riyadh and Qassim, with fog likely to form over parts of these regions.
Cold gusts accompanying the storms may lower temperatures, though specific values are not given in the current report.
These conditions are anticipated to persist throughout the day, prompting authorities to issue weather warnings and advise the public to exercise caution during the forecast period.
