In brief

On Friday, Israeli forces demolished the homes of Hamoudeh al‑Jaabari and Ahmed al‑Jaabari, both accused of attacking Israeli soldiers on Oct. 23 in Hebron. The demolitions come amid an 8‑day operation that has displaced 537 families, according to the Hebron Governorate Emergency Committee. Israeli troops also reinforced the Deir Baha area and pledged to continue offensive operations to counter further attacks.

On Friday, Israeli forces blew up the homes of Hamoudeh al‑Jaabari and Ahmed al‑Jaabari, two Palestinians believed to have killed two Israeli soldiers during a shooting attack on Oct. 23 in the Farsh al‑Hawa area of Hebron, according to a report from Xinhua.

The two men were killed by Israeli forces after the alleged attack, and engineering units then carried out demolition work at their residences, forcing nearby families to leave, Palestinian security sources said.

Palestinian authorities say the demolitions are part of a broader operation that began in Hebron hours after the Oct. 23 incident. Israeli troops deployed reinforcements to the Deir Baha area west of Hebron and have vowed to operate “proactively and offensively” to thwart future attacks, the Israeli military said in a statement.

According to the Hebron Governorate Emergency Committee, 537 families — a total of 3,361 people — have been displaced from the al‑Jilda and Deir Baha neighborhoods since the operation began.

The demolition marks the eighth day of the campaign, which has displaced hundreds of families in the southern West Bank.
