Solar-Powered Cars Kick Off Epic Outback Race in Australia

A solar-powered car race started on Sunday in Australia, with 34 teams from all over the world competing to win the 2025 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.

Participants were met by enthusiastic spectators as they launched into their ambitious 3,000-kilometer (1,864-mile) journey across the Australian outback, stretching from Darwin to Adelaide.

The first vehicles are anticipated to reach Adelaide on August 28th, with the event wrapping up on August 31st.
