Saudi‑aligned coalition forces confirmed on 29 October 2026 that an air‑defence system intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by Houthi militants toward the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, according to statements from both Colonel Turki Al‑Maliki and Major General Turki Al‑Malki.
Al‑Maliki, commander of the coalition forces, said the missile was launched toward the Eastern Region on the same day and was neutralised by the coalition’s air‑defence network, according to a release from the Saudi Press Agency.
Al‑Malki, spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, echoed the same confirmation, noting that the intercepted missile represented the continued threat posed by Houthi militants.
Both outlets identified the incident as occurring in the Eastern Province on 29 October 2026, and stated that the missile launch was carried out by the Houthi militia, which the coalition described as a terrorist organization.
