Several people were injured after a shooting and a fire at a Mormon church in Michigan, local police say.
Officials stated that there was an active shooter incident at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, a town 60 miles (96 km) northwest of Detroit, on Sunday morning.
There are multiple victims and the shooter is down, police reported. The church is actively on fire.
The Grand Blanc Township Police Department has indicated there is no ongoing threat to the public.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi commented via X, indicating that she has received updates on what she described as a horrific shooting and fire at the church.
Bondi noted that agents from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives were proceeding to the scene. She expressed her condolences: Such violence at a place of worship is heartbreaking and chilling. Please join me in praying for the victims of this terrible tragedy.
