JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. — Tiger Woods was arrested on Friday for driving under the influence after a car crash in Florida, the latest incident in a string of auto-related troubles for the golf icon. Authorities reported that Woods showed signs of impairment and was involved in a rollover accident, striking another vehicle not far from his residence.
Despite a negative Breathalyzer result, Woods refused to submit to a urine test, leading to charges for DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to lawful testing, both classified as misdemeanors.
This incident is at least Woods' fourth known driving-related mishap. In 2017, he was found asleep at the wheel, parked with damage to the side of his car. After admitting to taking a mixture of prescription medications that caused a bad reaction, he pled guilty to reckless driving and completed a DUI offender program. His earlier collision incidents have raised serious health concerns, notably after a severe rollover accident in early 2021, where he faced potential leg amputation following multiple fractures from a high-speed crash.
Woods has also encountered controversy surrounding a 2009 incident where he crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree, at a time engulfed in media scrutiny over his personal life. In light of these events, Woods' career and public persona have sustained significant damage, leading to questions about his future in professional golf.
As news develops surrounding Woods' recent arrest, fans and followers continue to express their concerns for his well-being and career path.
