Thailand suspends new gun permits after a 14‑year‑old gunman killed nine people at a school outside Bangkok.
The boy, who used a handgun owned by his grandfather, first shot the man’s grandparents and then opened fire on teachers and students at Debsirin Nonthaburi School. All nine infected parties—including five staff members and a 12‑year‑old girl—were killed before the shooter took his own life.
Police say the teenager may have taught himself to use the gun through violent content on social media and that his mental health and academic pressure may have contributed to his actions.
