In brief
The Duchess of Sussex has unveiled an online shop where fans can buy her favorite clothing, accessories, and jewelry, blending high and low fashion.
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has officially launched a digital shopping platform that showcases her favorite fashion and lifestyle items. Announcing the news to her 2.6 million Instagram followers, Meghan described the online shop as an opportunity to share a "handpicked and curated collection of the things I love." This initiative reflects her 'high-low' style as presented in a recent Netflix series, where she mixes luxury brands with more accessible options. The shop utilizes the ShopMy platform, designed for "elite creators" to earn commissions of up to 30% when items are sold through affiliate links. However, Meghan made sure to clarify that she would receive a commission for some products sold through her recommendations. This collection highlights the Duchess’s keen fashion sense, featuring neutral staples in a muted palette of whites, beiges, light blues, and blacks, along with natural materials like linen and cashmere. Among the 32 curated pieces are essentials such as a classic white cotton t-shirt, a stylish striped blue "boyfriend" shirt, white linen trousers, a sophisticated black wool blazer, and an elegant ivory evening dress. Many items are sourced from upscale high-street brands like Theory, Reformation, and J Crew, while also providing options that cater to luxury and budget shoppers alike. For instance, a trench coat priced at £99 from Uniqlo contrasts with Saint Laurent slip-on sandals retailing at £595, modeling a diverse range of offerings.Meghan's successful fashion influence is evident in her past experiences, where outfits she wore have generated overwhelming demand. Her engagement announcement coat sold out within minutes, crashing the brand's website, and a Strathberry tote she carried was snapped up globally in just 11 minutes. This new venture follows the launch of her Netflix lifestyle show, which offers glimpses into her home life, social gatherings, and various leisure activities. In addition to the shop, Meghan had also launched a lifestyle brand, formerly known as American Riviera Orchard and currently branded as As Ever, focusing on beautifully crafted essentials such as artisan preserves and teas.Having previously operated her own lifestyle blog, The Tig, Meghan has built a reputation for sharing insights on beauty, fashion, wellness, and personal experiences. As she embarks on this new chapter, it’s clear that the Duchess remains a significant figure in both the fashion world and the lifestyle sector.
