BOSTON (AP) — An explosion in the early hours of Saturday at Harvard Medical School is currently under investigation, as authorities believe it may have been an intentional act. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported following this alarming incident.

University police responded to a fire alarm at the Goldenson Building and attempted to stop two unidentified individuals who fled from the scene just before they arrived. According to a police statement, the quick response from officers helped to ensure the situation did not escalate further.

The Boston Fire Department's investigation confirmed the explosion was deliberate. Following the blast, police conducted a thorough sweep of the area but thankfully did not uncover any additional hazardous devices.
