Eight men linked by prosecutors to the Antifa network were handed sentences that will keep them in prison for nearly half a century. On Independence Day last summer, the group opened fire with firearms and launched fireworks at the Prairieland Detention Center south of Dallas. They also vandalised vehicles, a guard kiosk and spray‑painted the facility, setting off alarms and forcing the evacuation of staff. Police footage captured the chaos and the moment a gun was discharged at a security officer.

- Maricela Rueda – 70 years
- Cameron Arnold, Savanna Batten, Zachary Evetts, Bradford Morris, Elizabeth Soto – 50 years each
- Daniel Rolando Sanchez‑Estrada – 30 years
A ninth defendant, Ines Soto, will be sentenced on 1 July, and seven more allies who plead guilty to support‑to‑terrorist charges will meet the same date.
