Isidora Uribe Silva's transformative experiences with discrimination ignited her commitment to inclusion, propelling her to create initiatives for marginalized communities globally.
In a powerful tale of resilience and advocacy, Isidora Uribe Silva has become a beacon of hope for marginalized individuals, particularly women and those with disabilities, advocating tirelessly for their rights on international platforms. Her journey began at the young age of 12 when she first faced bullying due to her cerebral palsy after transferring to a new school. The lack of support and accommodation left her isolated, prompting her to leave for seven months until she found a welcoming environment at Institución Teresiana in Santiago, Chile. Now 20 years old and a law student at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Ms. Uribe Silva has transformed her painful experiences into a mission for change. Recognizing the systemic exclusion faced by individuals with disabilities and other marginalized groups, she became an outspoken advocate for inclusive policies in both Chile and the global community. At just 13, she took significant strides towards accessibility by developing Encuentra Tu Lugar (Find Your Place), an app designed to help disabled persons locate accessible parking spaces throughout Chile. This initiative laid the groundwork for her foundation of the same name, marked by an expansion of her advocacy efforts.Currently a member of the Generation Equality Adolescent Committee under U.N. Women and part of the U.N. Women Leaders Network, she plays an integral role in promoting gender equality in leadership roles. Her contributions reflect her commitment to change, and she continues to inspire others in the fight against discrimination and for a more inclusive society.
