In brief
A couple from Britain, Craig and Lindsay Foreman, known for their world motorcycle tour, has been detained in Iran, prompting concerns from their family and the British foreign office. The couple last updated their social media in January, and Iranian state media reported their arrest on security charges this week. The British consulate is reportedly in contact with Iranian officials regarding their welfare. The Foremans, who reside in Spain, were en route to Australia for a psychology conference when their unexpected detention drew attention.
In a statement released by their family, they expressed deep concern for the couple's safety and are prioritizing their well-being during this difficult time. The couple, both in their 50s, were on an ambitious journey that has now taken a troubling turn. Reports indicate they were photographed with the British ambassador to Iran, Hugo Shorter, amidst their legal troubles. The scenario emphasizes the growing complexity of international travel and the unpredictable nature of security situations.
