Scott Mescudi, popularly known as Kid Cudi, took the stand on Thursday in Lower Manhattan, asserting that the notorious rap mogul threatened him and was allegedly involved in a Molotov cocktail attack that resulted in significant damage to his Porsche. Mescudi's testimony marks him as the most prominent witness in the ongoing trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs, who faces grave charges such as racketeering, sex trafficking, and other serious criminal offenses, which could potentially lead to life imprisonment.
During his two-hour testimony, Cudi recounted a tumultuous relationship with Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who testified previously. He described an incident from December 2011 when he received a frantic call from Ventura revealing that Combs had discovered their romantic involvement. After rushing to check on Ventura’s safety, Mescudi claimed he found Combs illegally inside his home, with signs of tampering evident, including his security cameras being misaligned and his dog showing signs of distress.
Additionally, Mescudi reported that in January 2012, shortly following his split from Ventura, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at his vehicle, which he attributed to Combs. Prosecutor evidence included burned photographs of the inside of Mescudi’s car post-attack, which he alleged was orchestrated by Diddy. The trial also featured other testimonies painting a concerning picture of Diddy’s behavior, including makeup artist Mylah Morales stating she felt endangered after witnessing Ventura with visible injuries.
As the trial continues next week, further testimonies are anticipated, including from a woman, Capricorn Clark, who alerted Mescudi during the alleged break-in. Diddy, maintaining his innocence, has rebuffed all allegations against him in this highly publicized legal battle.
