TUCSON, Ariz. (PulseWire News) — Savannah Guthrie, host of the ‘Today’ show, has made a public plea for prayers and assistance in locating her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who authorities believe has been kidnapped from her home in Tucson, Arizona. In a social media post, Savannah expressed her hope for her mother's safe return, describing Nancy as a woman of deep conviction and good character.

The Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, has emphasized the critical nature of the situation, noting that Nancy requires medication that is vital for her health. Without it, her life could be at risk. “If she’s alive right now her meds are vital,” Nanos stated, adding that it has been more than 24 hours since Nancy was last seen.

Nancy Guthrie was last reported seen at her home on Saturday night. Family members became concerned when someone from her church reached out to inform them she was missing. They searched her home before notifying authorities.

With the investigation indicating possible foul play, various law enforcement units, including the homicide team and the FBI, are actively involved. Search efforts are being aided by drones, search dogs, volunteers, and even the Border Patrol.

Nanos indicated the urgency of the case, urging the public to be vigilant and share any information that could assist in finding Nancy. As the search continues, Savannah remains in Arizona, focusing on her family's distress amidst the media attention surrounding the case.
