Israel forces hit a prayer hall in Tibnin, southern Lebanon, after a fresh evacuation warning in the region.
A man died and twelve others were injured when Israeli aircraft struck the roof of a cemetery prayer hall in Tibnin. The same day, Israeli jets also hit four buildings in Mansouri, an area that was ordered for evacuation after the threat of “forceful action.”
Hezbollah’s role in the strikes remains unconfirmed, but the incident follows a trilateral agreement signed by Israel, Lebanon and the United States, which set the stage for a phased Israeli withdrawal in exchange for Hezbollah’s disarmament.
The Lebanese army has since been deployed to a “pilot zone” along the border, marking a first since June. UN figures list over eight hundred thousand people displaced in Lebanon; about three hundred sixty thousand still remain in shelters.
With the border tensions high, the latest strike signals a renewed escalation that could affect the fragile cease‑fire agreed weeks ago.
