OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma City Thunder's star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, has reported that he and his family are safe after a burglary incident at their home last week, while he was engaged in a home game against the Washington Wizards. In a statement after the Thunder's victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, he shared, 'Long story short, everybody's safe, and that's all that really matters in the whole thing.' Police responded to the burglary report around 7:45 p.m. but indicated that the suspects fled before officers arrived and are still at large. No injuries were reported, and officers are continuing their investigation without any known danger to the public.  This incident reflects a disturbing trend, with numerous high-profile athletes experiencing similar thefts in recent months, drawing concerns about safety on game days when players are not home. Gilgeous-Alexander emphasized his gratitude for his family's safety, stating, 'Everything else will come and go, but my loved ones are safe, so I’m OK. I’m happy.'
