In brief

A Ukrainian drone attack on a warehouse near Moscow caused the deaths of five people and injured ten more overnight. Moscow’s governor stated the site, located in Novoselki, Chekhov, was linked to the logistics hub of Wildberries, a major Russian e‑commerce operator. Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Wildberries depots, claiming they supply the Russian army. Moscow denies the claim but confirms the strike and its impact on civilian life.

At least five people were killed and 10 more injured in a Ukrainian drone strike on a warehouse close to Moscow overnight on Tuesday, the region’s governor has said.

The official did not specify what had been targeted but Ukraine has been carrying out strikes on facilities operated by Wildberries in recent weeks, often dubbed the "Russian Amazon".

Kyiv says the depots are used to supply the Russian military, a claim Moscow denies, but local officials reported Wildberries warehouses were also hit in the St Peterburg and Tver regions overnight.

Russia reported its own strikes against Ukraine, killing at least four and wounding several, and said its defence ministry intercepted and destroyed 320 drones overnight.

Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov said an industrial site in Novoselki, Chekhov—about 69 km (43 mi) south of the Kremlin—was attacked, triggering a fire at a warehouse.

He noted on Telegram that seven injured were in a moderate condition and one in a serious condition.

Ukrainian media linked the site to Wildberries, a company that has not publicly commented but confirmed its St Peterburg facility was hit.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported an 89‑year‑old woman was killed and two girls, aged two and 12, were among seven injured in a Russian strike on the southern port city of Mykolaiv overnight.

In Sumy, a residential area strike killed a woman and two girls, aged five and 10, and injured four others. Russian strikes also injured two people in Bilhorod‑Dnistrovskyi, and a food warehouse was set on fire in Dnipro, the emergency service added.
