A tourist coach carrying Dutch nationals overturned between Susch and Zernez in the southeastern Graubünden region of the Swiss Alps on Thursday afternoon, killing several people and leaving dozens injured, authorities confirmed.

Police said the bus was on a day‑trip from Austria to Switzerland when the accident occurred. Emergency services responded with a large team, including multiple helicopters and dozens of ambulances, to the exposed highway beside a narrow country road.

Some 48 Dutch passengers were on board, according to a spokesperson for the General Dutch Association of Travel Companies representing tour operator OAD. The spokesperson told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that the exact number of casualties could not yet be confirmed.

Zernez, the entry point for the Swiss National Park, is located in the Engadine valley. The park covers more than 100 sq km (40 sq mi) of alpine reserve.

Rescue crews continue to assess the crash site, and investigators have yet to disclose the exact cause of the overturn. The Swiss police are working closely with Dutch authorities to determine the scope of the incident.
