Carla Jeffery, the charismatic cheerleader from Disney Channel’s 2018 hit "Zombies" and its two sequels, has died at the age of 33. The actress was widely praised for her infectious positivity and bright smile that lit up every set she graced.
Jeffery’s agent Carla Alexander shared the heartbreaking news, calling her a "beautiful, vibrant and incredibly talented woman whose radiant smile could light up any room". Her talent agency wrote a moving tribute on Instagram: "Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beloved Carla Jeffery. For more than 20 years, Carla was part of the Alexanders Talent Management family...We will remember her infectious smile, laughter, and the beautiful light she carried everywhere she went. Rest beautifully, Carla. You will be deeply missed and forever loved."
Jeffery played Bree in all three "Zombies" films and had a recurring role in "Curb Your Enthusiasm" portraying a character from a Black family that moved in with Larry David after Hurricane Katrina. No cause of death has been publicly disclosed.
Her twin brother Carlon, also an actor, posted a heartfelt message and a clip of Carla on a beach, accompanied by a screenshot of an intimate text: "Hey Sis, call me back when you get this...I love you to the moon & back sis." He celebrated her resilience, grace, and "infectious smile that lights up a room" further noting she was a "light that shines bright".
Co‑stars also paid tribute. Chandler Kinney, who played Willa, wrote: "Carla. The sweetest, most sparkly gal. You made every day better and brighter with your infectious positivity." Milo Manheim, a Zed co‑star, posted, "Love you Carlaboo, the sweetest, kindest, most loving person."
